Undoubtedly, an online degree can further your career aspirations. However, choosing a program can be a confusing process. One way of identifying a suitable program is to list your goals and then go through the listed programs carefully to see which one meets your list best. It also helps to peruse the feedback from students who have successfully acquired their degree from institution to see how others have benefited from the listed programs.
There are many universities offering different programs. Doing some research of the official websites of the many universities, colleges, and schools offering online degree courses might be particularly helpful to see which institution and program suit your time and work schedule. It is also important to ensure that the university program and the university itself is accredited and recognized by the industry. You might want to consider the University of Phoenix since it is both trusted and accredited. So, you’ve managed to survive the whole year away from home. Although there were tears, tantrums and moments of homesickness, all in all your first year at university was great. And, despite your initial feelings of trepidation over launching a new life in an unknown place, you have tasted independence and loved it!
With most having spent their first year in student accommodation – usually in halls or shared flats provided for students by the university – it is exciting to think about year two, when you finally have the freedom to choose where you want to live and with whom.
This means no more having to put up with chaotic flatmates, filthy bathrooms and loud arguments, and, as opposed to sharing a living space with five people you don’t know, or don’t get on with, you now have the option to search for a place in the part of town you want to stay in and with the people you want to live with.
University is one time in your life where you really get to discover who you are and what your likes and dislikes are. Aside from learning a profession, it gives you a sense of what to expect in the real world and lets you fend for yourself without someone there to do your washing and place hot meals in front of you every day.
Moving into your first real home away from home is, therefore, a big deal. Your parents no longer have the authority to dictate whether your room is messy or not and you, perhaps for the first time, have the option to decorate as you see fit.
Most relish the time when they go out to buy their own essentials. Indeed, purchasing that first set of saucepans or a piece of new furniture is symbolic and serves to represent your new found freedom and the start of a new chapter in your life. No longer do you have to use someone else’s saucepan to boil your pasta – you now have your own!
Looking the part is, of course, equally important when going back to university. All of your belongings act as a representation of your character and clothes are no exception. And, who can forget about all those cool gadgets, like audio systems and televisions that are absolute ‘essentials’. Turning up at university with the latest MP3 player or having friends around to your new abode - especially when Champions League is on – is a sure-fire way to build your popularity, especially if you just happen to own the largest flat screen television in your class!
Although the first year of university can be an intimidating time, by the time you reach the second year, not only are you experienced in living away from home, but going back to university can actually be very exciting, not least because you finally get to live in your own, chosen space.

Fifty years ago, Günter Grass’s novel Die Blechtrommel hit the headlines, signalling the arrival of a brilliant new talent who would go on to become a Nobel Prize winner (1999).
Translated into a number of languages, The Tin Drum has become one of the best-known works of contemporary German literature. Now, as part of world-wide celebrations of the book’s half-century, a new English translation by Breon Mitchell is to appear in 2009.
But how does the translator take into account five decades of scholarship, a new edition of the German text, and over 3,500 issues raised by Grass himself in a page-by-page examination of the novel?
Hear this distinguished translator talk at Victoria University in early October about the fascinating process and special challenges of re-translating a classic text.
Victoria University’s New Zealand Centre for Literary Translation, in association with the Goethe Institute, is hosting Breon Mitchell, an internationally-acclaimed translator of contemporary German fiction. He is currently Professor of Germanic Studies and Comparative Literature at Indiana University, and Director of the Lilly Library.

The objective of this study is to ascertain the influence of internal and external environmental and marketing
stimuli on students’ need recognition to study at private colleges in Malaysia. Eight hundred and eighty eight
students who were enrolled in 72 multi-disciplined private colleges participated in this study. A two-part
questionnaire comprising selected background data, and internal and external stimuli promoting students’ need
recognition was used. Internal stimuli comprised an individual’s past experience, characteristics and motive.
External environmental stimuli encompassed family, reference group and social class; while external marketing
stimuli include the quality of programs, promotion, pricing, distribution, lecturers, processes and physical
resources. The results indicate that external marketing stimuli have the highest influence on students’ need
recognition (lecturer’s quality – 76%; program quality – 74% and quality of physical resources – 73%), followed
by external environmental stimuli (family – 70%), and internal stimuli – 65%. These findings will enable private
colleges to formulate effective marketing strategies emphasising students’ need recognition and family influence,
which will allow them to maintain a sustainable competitive edge over their competitors in this dynamic and
highly competitive industry.
Individual motive (internal input variable), family (external input variable: environmental
stimulus), quality of programs, quality of lecturers, as well as quality of physical resources
(external input variable: marketing stimuli) were perceived by students as triggers of need
recognition for higher education at private colleges. This concurs with the literature reported
by Assael (1998) and Schiffman and Kanuk (2000).
The external marketing stimuli was perceived to be most influential in stimulating
students’ need to study at private colleges. The three marketing stimuli namely quality of
lecturers, programs, and physical evidence were rated higher than the internal and external
environmental stimuli, thus reinforcing the importance of marketing stimuli in triggering
need recognition among students of private colleges. This implies that marketing stimuli are
powerful tools that can be used by private colleges to stimulate need recognition among
potential students. As such it would be critical for private colleges to review and reformulate
their marketing strategies to maximize their impact to stimulate students’ need recognition
and choice of private college. It is also imperative that management of private colleges
communicate these strategies to potential students and their parents. This is because the
choice of college is not an individual’s decision but one that involves a decision making unit
(DMU) that comprises potential students and their families. As this study is exploratory, it
would be more conclusive if further empirical studies could establish the magnitude of
influence these internal and external factors have on students’ need recognition, and how
private colleges’ marketing efforts could impact students’ need recognition

A method of conducting a class of college Internet is through a process called live media. This type of college class online is designed to allow students to connect to the class that is set up similar to a chat room. It is not only a chat feature, but also a live audio chat to engage student teachers and students to student interaction. The specific theme or a conference that is given by the instructor can be heard through the computer speakers or headphones of the student’s choice. In this mode of Internet college class, there are two options for communications. Any student may choose to participate via the microphone or by text messaging, and in combination. Many online institutions also integrate video cams that students can watch the instructor live in a small window on the monitor. A final bonus to a college class Internet is that it is not necessary to take notes during a conference that the conference is generally recorded and transferred to the school server for access by students. If not, the option is still available to register via personal computer and play again at a later date. There is only one affordable, exciting option to start a fabulous career. Start a college class online today!

Medical expertise in Malaysia ranks among the best in the world and most private hospitals in the country have internationally recognized quality standards. These include the MS ISO9002 or accreditation by the Malaysian Medical Society for Quality of Health (MSQH). All private medical centers must be approved and licensed by the Ministry of Health.
Malaysia’s growing reputation as a preferred health and medical destination sees it welcoming visitors from around the world seeking remedies for a range of medical needs. These include both critical health services as well as cosmetic and remedial care.
The many advantages of choosing Malaysia as a private heath and medical care destination include:
Competitive Rates
Medical charges and hospitalization costs here are very competitive compared to those in many developed countries, and expertise ranks among the best in the world. For example, a normal cardiac bypass surgery (CABG) would cost in the region of USD6,000 - USD7,000.
State-of-art Facilities
The many state-of-the-art, well-equipped and well-staffed private medical centres have extensive diagnostic and therapeutic resources such as endoscopic suites, haemodialysis centers, cardiac catheterosation and magnetic resonance imaging facilities and much more.
Highly qualified professionals
Medical specialists are highly qualified professionals with extensive international qualifications and are supported by well-trained para-medical staff.
Comfortable Accommodation
Most private hospitals in Malaysia offer accommodation ranging from comfortable to luxurious, including private rooms and suites. Meals are included and rates vary depending on the level of service required as some establishment offer personal butlers or full-time private nurses. Sleep-in facilities can also be easily provided for traveling companions and again, given Malaysia’s relative low costs yet high standards of living, long–term stays are an acceptable option.
Many easily accessible tourist destinations
But perhaps the best thing about undergoing medical attention in Malaysia, especially for less critical care cases, must be the recuperation period. Patients have the opportunity to enjoy sightseeing and other tourist activities during their recuperation and convalescence. Visits can be made to Malaysia’s beautiful beaches especially since some medical centers are located at popular beach or tourist locations. Indeed, for most patients, taking in a bit of sightseeing or going on a shopping spree could stimulate a quicker recovery!
